Borrowed Wisdom from Dr. Seuss

Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try.

Anti-Saturdays.

For one reason alone. It's a working day in my current version of Hell. Which means kissing a whole lot of my favourite things goodbye.

No switching off the alarm on a Friday night. No asking the maid to take the day off, since it's a Saturday, and you want to sleep in. No Friday night. No lazy Saturday beer lunches, no pondering the fate of the world.

No time to window-shop. Or meet friends you haven't seen in months. Or throw out clothes you hate. Or colour your hair at home. Or update your book. Or network.

No reading the newspaper over lunch. No getting overhauled at the salon on the first Saturday of the month.

No bill-paying, library-visiting, grocery-shopping, or afternoon-movie-watching. No cooking (which might actually be a good thing). No watching The Bold and the Beautiful reruns.

No weekend (since one half has been rudely amputated, without anesthesia). Which also means no long weekends, no Goa weekends, no surprise weekends in Bombay.

And they wonder why I'm so negative.
